The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 160,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest national civil engineering society. CI Student Days 2027 Programming will be taking place at ASCE Headquarters. For the first 144 years of its existence, ASCE maintained its headquarters in New York City, relocating six times to progressively larger facilities. In 1996, ASCE moved its global headquarters to Reston, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. Fun Fact: ASCE converted their headquarters parking lot into a full-scale green stormwater infrastructure demonstration project. The lot uses low-impact development (LID) practices to actively filter and reduce the amount of stormwater running off into the local watershed.
Arrival & Hotel
Details on hotel accommodations coming soon.
Once you arrive at Dulles International Airport, you can begin making your way to the hotel. We suggest that you connect with fellow students before arriving onsite to ride share to the event. Once onsite, the hotel reception desk will ask you or your roommate to provide a credit card for incidentals. A hold for incidentals will be placed on your card from the time you check-in until about 3-5 business days after you check out of the hotel. If you use a debit card, make sure the debit card has enough money for a $500 hold, plus money to allow you to get home after the program is over. Prior to checking into the hotel, please coordinate with your roommate on which person will handle this. Only one credit card per sleeping room is required. All rooms are under your names. The hotel room charges are going to ASCE’s master bill, but the hotel will need a credit card on file from you when you check in for incidentals.
