The ASCE Construction Institute’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) hosts CI Student Days, a five-day immersive experience designed to connect the construction and engineering industry’s future leaders with the professionals, knowledge, and experiences they need to succeed.

Each year, 50 of the top student applicants are selected from a pool of more than 200 applicants to participate in this highly interactive program.

During CI Student Days, students:

  • Develop a bid estimate and project proposal for a real-world construction project
  • Build practical skills in estimating, scheduling, project management, and construction operations
  • Put their knowledge to the test through the Heavy Construction Challenge
  • Learn directly from experienced industry professionals through technical presentations, mentoring, and networking
  • Build relationships with peers and industry leaders that can extend well beyond the event

Student Days has brought together students and industry professionals in cities across the country, including Washington, D.C., San Diego, Charleston, Denver, Chicago, and Kansas City. In 2027, the program comes to Reston, Virginia.
